Summary: This book presents the content of education for the workers and the professional co-workers in 9 kindergartens, which enables recognition and training in such social skills and work technique that influence socioemotional development of preschool children, thus prevening possible future behavior disorders. Besides, the book enables following and evaluation of the important phase of this scientific research - scientific evaluation of the integral method.

Title: Family circumstances in different primary school classes as risk factors for childs development

    Authors:

Summary: Family circumstances have been registered continuously beforeschooling especially for the fifth grade of primary school, onthe sample of 464 primary school pupils in Zagreb. Investigationis carried out with two questionnaires about family lifeconditions, in two observed time periods. The relations betweenfamily circumstances were analysed. The significant connectionbetween observed family circumstances occurred in eight pairs ofquasicanonic factors. The connection between pairs of cannonicfactors points out cumulation of risk factors from one to anotherobserved period of family circumstances.

    Pages: from 29 to 44
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The aim of this paper was to elaborate first evidence aboutfamily circumstances and their relation with particular primary schools, and the most frequent behaviouralmodalities of tested pupils (N = 484). Results presented on the descriptive level, point out risk areasin life conditions of pupil's family. Further results show thatthe most frequent behavioural modalities, cannot be connectedwith risk variables of family circumstances. This is completelyunderstandable according the modality, but not negligence andindifference and low success in learning.

Summary: Among observed ways of pupil's behaviour, only few could becalled undesired: unsociabileness, negligence, indifference, timidity, depression, and being spoiled. In this work theconnection between these, relatively frequent ways of undesiredbehaviours and other behaviours, was tested, and the analysis oftheir modalities in relation with the general success in schoolwas carried on. Author's opinion is that these connectionscould be explained much better after one detailed analysis of sociodemographic characteristics of particular school areas.

Summary: The relations between variables estimating pupil's behaviour andvariables estimating some unchangable family circumstances havebeen interpreted on the basis of canonic correlation analysis, carried out on the sample of 464 pupils. The results show thatfor the low school success, different behaviour disordersconnected with schooling, as well as for the differentbehavioural disturbances of minor intensity, is responsible lowparental educational status and unfavourable family culturallevel, separate life of parents and the early separation of childand one, or both parents.

Summary: Relation between actual family characteristics and pupil'sbehavioural characteristics were estimated on the sample of 464five grade pupil's. Canonic correlation analysis extracted 12significant canonic factors, among which the first one and thesecond one are the best defined. The first factor is cumulatingnegative family characteristics, inadequate upbringingprocedures, which is connected with the factor of predelinquentand delinquent behaviour in pupils coming from such families. Thesecond factor is the factor of optimal family life conditions andis connected with the factor of no-existing behaviouraldisturbances.

Summary: The aim of this paper was to estimate the connection betweensociodemographic characteristics of five grade primary schoolpupil's families and some characteristics of family upbringing.Canonic correlation analysis showed the significant connectionbetween the three pairs of factors. The results of the analysisare approving the hypothesis that the difficulties in whichfamilies having unfavourable sociodemographic status can befound, can reflect the children's upbringing in the way thattheir parents are more often going to use the undesired methods.

Canonic correlation analysisshowed five significant factors. These factors point out theimportant factors for nonexistence of sociopathologic incidences.Low cultural level and parents working abroad are mostlyconnected with inadequate educational approach, so authorsconclude that the knowledge of sociodemographic family characteristic is a good base for different school activities aiming thesystematic professional work with parents.

Summary: The purpose of this paper was to estimate connections betweensome characteristics of family atmosphere with the eventualpresence of sociopathologic events and dominant approach inparental upbringing. Canonic correlation analysis showed threefactors. The hypothesis according to which no occurrence ofsociopathological events in the family is in the positivecorrelation with dominant stimulating educational procedures, waspartially confirmed. Authors discuss different of schoolinfluence; scholl is an institution which should be mostappropriate for carrying out programmes with parents.

Summary: Relations between cognitive abilities and modalities disturbedbehaviour were tested on the sample of 464 five grade pupils. Onepair of quasicanonic factors was extracted through the method ofcanonical analysis of covariance. This pair shows an averageconnection between general cognitive actor and behaviouraldisturbance variables. The direction of relations and structureof factors shows that the decline in the cognitive ability levelis connected primarily with the lack in school success and muchlower with other ways of disturbed behaviour.

Summary: The connection between actual family circumstances and pupil'scognitive abilities, was tested on the sample of 464 pupils ofboth sexes. Quasiqanonic correlational analysis extracted onesignificant pair of quasicanonic factors, showing the averageconnection between the general cognitive factor and subject'sfamily circumstances. Higher cognitive level is connected withthe good life conditions in the family, while the lowercognitive status was connected with the life conditions in thefamily, (this primarily concerns the quality of relations in thefamily).

Summary: The sample of 464 five grade pupils was tested with the aim toanalyse the relations between cognitive abilities definedaccording to the cybernetic model and family circumstances. Canonic correlation analysis extracted one pair of factors. Inthe space of children's cognitive abilities, obtained canonicfactor was interpreted as the factor of positive cultural andeducational parental level. These results stress out the need andimportance of lifting up the level of general familycircumstances and the significance of the educationalinstitutions on the stimulation of the development of cognitiveabilities in children.

Summary: Relations between dimensions defined under cybernetic model ofconative functions and estimations of behavioural modalities inpuberty, were analysed under the model of canonic correlationanalyses and canonic covariance analyses, on the sample of 484 11years old, primary school pupils. Under both models a significantconnection between personality characteristics and modalities wasfound. This connection can be attributed to adaptionaldifficulties on the school and family environment, as well as toneurotical behavioural modalities in children with disturbedsystem for regulation and control of conative functions.

Summary: A sample of 88 fifth grade pupils with behaviour disturbances wasdivided in experimental and control groups. By studying changes in the pupils conative area by the means of discriminantanalysis statistically no significant diferences in personalityfeatures between the experimental and the control group werefound after treatment. One discriminant function was isolatedon variables of differences between the starting and the finalmeasuring point. Group centroids clearly suggest that nosignificant difference in the personality features area betweenthe experimental and the control group occurred after thetreatment.

Summary: Social and emotional status was investigated on a sample of 168children aged three and four. The parents' competence for the parental role was also investigated. Results of the quasicanonical correlation analysis show the connection betweenthese two areas. The connection is manifested in five pairs ofquasicanonical factors. The results justify the hypothesis on theslowed development of serial processor in this population. Thispaper presents the results of checking metrical characteristics of tests. Test for serial processor efficiency estimation mustbe revised because of the low reliability. The reason is arelatively small number of tasks for such a testing, as wellas a considerable number of difficult tasks.
