Summary: Informational modeling and description of language is a research project aimed at language definition with the aid of means of information theory and information science in general in order to make them sufficiently formalized with assigned measure for computer use on the one hand, and for the best appropriateness to human use in linguistics with maximum inclusion and control of linguistic data on the other.

Keywords: informational language modeling, information theory, quantified formalization, standardization of morphology, automatic lemmatization, knowledge sistemization.

Research goals: The basic objective of the project is broadening of existing and establishing of new computer aided grammatical systems and achievement of a complete set of machine used morphological rules of Croatian language where exceptions are thought of as the rules for small subsets of data entries. The expected results of the research project shall make a basis for application in publishing of the first (ever) morphological dictionary of Croatian, for development of a professional spellcheck computer programme for spelling and dictionary control of Croatian texts in regard of typographical errors, OCR errors, the words which do not belong to the standard language and for applied research in grammatical analyzers and lemmatizers of Croatian.
