Summary: The article conveys a methodical approach to measuring the
possible threat to people and tangible assets from natural
disasters and ecological catastrophes. Normal situations and
situations in which a higher state of alert is proclaimed are
analyzed. The development of the estimating process uses
primarily collected documentation. Emphasis is placed upon
certain types of threats, which require particular attention.

Summary: In conditions of a market economy, security has a special
influence in creation of income and increasing profits. The
article analyzes legal, economic and socio-psychological aspects
of market security. Presented are a number of sources of
commercial threats that directly or indirectly act as factors
towards destruction and entropy in the productive cycle.
Emphasis is placed upon the emergence of new forms of threats
that accompany the process of de-nationalization.

Summary: The article analyzes the necessary expertise for successful
planning of security. A methodical model is presented and
explained, including functions of companies, from which is
derived the model of defense-protection recruiting from subject
companies which participate in general security. The elaboration
is illustrated with the results of research in the success of
recruiting and creating market security.

Summary: The paper gives a sinthetic review of the comprehension of
the
research of the defence-protection training as a factor of
gaining peace an safety. Answers are given to the questions about
the necessity of existence of special training programmes whose
acceptance standds in direct relation with the assurance of peace
and safety, and whether such training programmes are necessary in
the societies with free economy and how these problems are
elaborated in highty developed countries of the world. It is

Summary: The task od science and scietists is to suggest the most
rational solutins of the conceptions and systam og safety and protection
education that must be in function od pease and safety. New social
relationships, political pluralism and marketing economy are the
prerequisites enabling that the safety of an individual, nature and society
as well as the education for achieving and keeping pease and safety shuld
be conslidered as a part od activities functioning to keep and increase
total social properties i.e. as the factor of higher quality of life. We
must cognize from history, both our own and the one belonging to others,
from the reality we take part in, and create our development strategy,
truly speaking and just formaly, we will reach the best solutions in this
part of civilian's and soldier's education and training.

Summary: Do people feel safe in Croatia? As to answer the question
an analysis is made to find out whether the legal system, Croatian army,
police and UNPROFOR are factors of human being security. Takong into
account: sex, age, education, place of living, nationality, social and
property conditions of the examined persons the achived indicators (and
their cause-consequence relations) show whether men are imperiled or not by
the inefficiency of mentioned systems or institutions. The result prove
that the unexpectedly high percentage of people perceive legal system,
Croatian army and police as security factors. For the contrary, small
number of people believe that UNPROFOR contribute to feeling of security.
Therefore their presence in this area with the actual mandate is
questionable. Finally, the author gives some suggestions to make people
feel more secure in Croatia.

Summary: An analysis of empirical data collected in this study shows
a
hierarchy of security factors during the time of research. Using
simple graphic and analytic presentations, the functions of the
legal system, Croatian army, the police, and UNPROFOR are
analyzed. Without doubt, it is shown which variables are factors
for security or insecurity for the subjects.
