Summary: The project "Human Security and Quality of Life" is a multi-aspect and interdisciplinary research project. Special attention is given to investigation of security / insecurity aspects of intrasubjective experience of general, political, social, psychological, economic and military security. The security / insecurity of people as a result of the influences of public information, and "quality of life" factors such as economic, political, legal, educational, and defense systems, is also researched. All relationships also consider an objective position of security / insecurity of the people exposed to factors affecting their security. Cyclic repetition of this research (every 5 years, for example) and comparitive analysis of the results will show changes in the degree of security / insecurity and the quality of life experienced by citizens of Croatia.

Research goals: 1. ...to investigate subjective and objective determinants of security of the individual and their effect upon the quality of life for citizens of Croatia. 2. ...to determine relevant factors for peoples’ security, and the influence of these factors upon the quality of life in Croatia. 3. ...to scientifically develop certain questions and reach scientific descriptions with an emphasis upon cause analysis through synthetic study. 4. ...to expand the classification and typology of security / insecurity and use this information in education about security and the quality of life. 5. The results of the research should induce practical improvements in quality of life and security of citizens of Croatia.
