   Summary: Nationalism of a nation without a state is fokused on the making of its own national state.When this aim is realised, nationalism finds new motives for its own maintenance. This is particulary evident with smaller nations. Considering that the Croatian nationalism has realised its main aim, it should be now in the function of democratisation and pluralisation of the Croatian society and in a function of coming closer to Europe.

   Other: Održan međunarodni znanstveni skup (Pazin, 11.0žujka 1995.) na temu "Etnicitet, relgionalizam, lokalizam, što je uvjetovano kako teorijskim, tako i empirijskim razlozima. Aktualnost navedenog pojmovnog niza proizlazi iz globalnih procesa kojima završava 20. stoljeće. Ponajprije, riječ je o krizi modernizacije koja se odvijala u okvirusuvremenog kapitalističkog sustava, a koja je uvjetovala revival etničke identifikacije. S druge strane, iscrpljivanje modernizatorskih, a onda i ideoloških potencijala tzv. realsocijalističkog sustava dovelo je do raspada multietničkih zajednica, čime su otvoreni slični, ali čest i još drastičniji procesi u postkomunističkim sustavima.

In its disintegration, the non Serbian peoples saw defeat of the authoritarian structure and an opening-up to democratic options for the new states, who were to be integrated into the new economic and political structure of a united Europe.
