Summary: Along with the historical aspect of the settlement of Jews from the oldest times till the present on the territory of Croatia, the Jewish community of the city of Zagreb has been particularly analysed.Demographic analysis for Croatia and Zagreb based on the available statistical and other data and also on the recent special study has been made. Together with demographic, educational and caritative( Jewish women organisations) as well as other activities have been analysed.The analysis of the journal "The Jew"( one segment) which was published between two world wars, has been made.The research of new Jewish migration especially from the post-communist countries and refugees from Bosnia and Herzegowina in the context of the position of Jewish communities in diaspora and Israel has been conducted.The creation of data basis and the analysis of the migration of Jew of Croatia and their influence on the demographic structure and organisation is progress.Cooperation with several institutions has been realised and the results have been presented and published.

Research goals: The goals of the research is to analyse the Jewish community in Zagreb, especially demographic changes in the context of the events in some periods (" the old Yugoslavia", war, "new" communist Yugoslavia, independent Croatia). The changes in the community and its adaptation will be studied by means of demographic changes, organisational forms and the work of women(caritative) organisations. The analysis of the journal "The Jew",which was published in the interwar period, will contribute to better understanding the relations between the Jewish community, its narrow and broader environments of that time and events in the Jewish world.Special consideration will be given to migration (settlement) in some historical period and in present time and their influence on demographic and other changes. Various documentation and materials will be collected and data basis will be created.
