Summary: The essay is an afterword to Helmuth Plessner's book
"Conditio humana" (selected, afterword and edited by H. Burger). The book
contains a set of Plessner's works published between 1937 and 1975. In
afterword, the author shows the main thesis and implications of Plessner's
philosophical anthropology, based on entire Plessner's work as well as on
recent secondary literature. The essay is most of all focused on
methodological problems of Plessner's conception, but also elaborates other
problems, such as: unfoundability of a man, his hidden state (homo
absconditus), and the conception of conditio humana.

Summary: The essay is an afterword to the Arnold Gehlen's book "Man
and Institutions" (selected, afterword and edited by H. Burger). The book
contains Gehlen's text "Urmensch und Spakultur" and his lecture "Man and
Institutions".
In the Afterword, Gehlen's theory of institutions - presented on the basis
of his main works and the prominent secondary literature - is placed in the
context of his philosophy of history, typology of actions and his
"elementary anthropology". Gehlen wishes to stabilize man by means of
institutions, and this intention has conservative implications, especially
relating to the period of subjectivity and modernity.

Summary: The study, aimed at establishing the way in wich

theory of institutions. It examines the context of the theory, its impact
on the relevant literature, and its essential hypotheses and implications.
Its also examines the contradiction of Gehlen's intention to construct
anthropology as empirical philosophy while simultaneosly resorting to
categories as fundamental designations of man.

Summary: By the Zagreb philosophy of praxis the conception of truth
formulated by Gajo Petrović seems to be among the most interesting ones. In
his works Petrović did not fully expound and articulate his theory of
truth, but he did give important insights and suggestions for appropriate
formulation of question and succesful tackling of the problem. The present
author's task is ananalysis of Petrović's work with the purpose of
reconstructing his conception of truth.

Summary: Continuing to the insights of the classics of philosophical
anthropology G. Dux developed a certain anthropology of time sa a cognitive
construction in the framework of a certain genetic and historical theory of
mind. The time of action is for him an vertical in all dimensions of time
and it removes the man form the natural time. Considering the notion of a
subject as "a competence for the universal", a question is raised whether
this competence is constructive for time. It seems that Dux had to pay too
great a price for understanding the subject as a constructor, for time
could be deducible only as a construct.

Law
- Authors:
- Burger, Hotimir (6245)
Radio station: HRT, Radio Zagreb - III. program
Year: 1994
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The paper tries to show does the construction of form of
law by Habermas denotes a loosening of the crisis of institutions in the
modernity. The problem is concentrated around the relation between the form
of law and the traditional morals and about the subject of law, which is
deprived of all concret determinations. A democratic principle in law,
discoursiv theory of law and problems of human rights are also important
here.

Title: The Hegel's Understanding of History in his Phrase:
"...what we are, are we simoultaneously historically"
- Authors:
- Burger, Hotimir (6245)
Language: njemački
Summary: Author tries to reconstruct the context and the right sense
of the cited statement, which Hegel has formulated in the Introduction of
his Lectures on history of philosophy, and which is different to his
standard opinion on the problem. The central problem is this "WE" as the
subject and figures compatible to it: spirit of time, spirit of world,
general spirit, spirit of nation and absolute spirit, as well as their
relation to the tradition, temporality and eternity. Essay aslo shows the
which implications of the Hegel's thesis remain actual and which were
antiquated in filosophical reflexsion.
