Summary: The autorithies claimed in 1945 that Cratia was heading
towrd astable constitutional status. Indeed, in the cuorse of foru yearsthe
Yugoslavia parliament promulgated over 200 laws, but it didnot represent
any improvement in legal protection and basicrughts for the citizen. One of
the first laws promulgated in1945. the Law of the Peopels Courts
Establishment, rejected theprinciple of indenpendence of courts as a
"burgeois" legaltradition as well as all distinctions between law and
politics.

Summary: This article presents a condensed picture of the political
andsocial life in Croatia after the communist takeover in 1945.
Thestrategic anticommunist initiative was held by the CatholicChurch. By
the end of the 40's, the collectivization processcuased political tensions
among peasants. The followers of Radićand Maček found themselves on the
anti-communist wing.

Summary: The author research condition and role of civil parties
inCratia from 1945 since the end of 1952.With regard to the factsthat among
prewar parties only the Croat Peasant Party maintainedsome kind of party
activity the author describes evants and roleconnecdet with this biggest
and most influenced Crat pary. Theresearch is based on archives materials,
newspaper, publisheddocumenta and literature.The first part deals with
mainstream ofparty proceded by Šubašić, Šutej and Košutić.The lidership
wereleawing under pressure and many of them werew arested.In thecesond
part the author pays a special attnetion to the procces ofcration of Croat
Republican Peasant Party. This party wasorganized by the Communist Pary in
order to attract peasant andCroat in the Partisan movement, to give the
impression of themultiparty life . Mainly it served as a transmision of the
CP.When CP secured its position the CRPP became insignificant.
