Summary: In Croatian studies scientists are lately interested in
lexicology and phraseology of Croatian language. In this project we offer
basic theoretical and methodological hypothesis of Croatian literary
language system. This project examines contemporary and historical
lexicology and phraseology of Croatian language on concrete texts. Those
texts are written by Croatian authors in Slavonia. Project examines
lexicology and phraseology of so called Slavonic dialect.

Research goals: The aim of this project is to examine lexems not
only as lexicological units, but also we must see them as a part of
grammar, history of language, dialectology, semantics. The aims are to
explore lexemes and idioms in the past and in present-day Croatian in
written texts and in spoken language. Modern theories in lexicology and
phraseology will help us to describe and examine Croatian lexicology and
phraseology. We ih this project work on concrete texts of Croatian writters
in Slavonia. We are also interested in words and idioms which are used in
