Summary: Since the prescribed accentual norm of the Croatian literarylanguage went one way and the real used norm the other way, therewas a necessity in Croatian linguistics, specially in itsnormativity, to establish the accentual norm on proper basis -Croatian idioms with western dialect as nucleus. Hence theCroatian standard accentuation will be established, to the mostfavourable depth and extension, on the basis of the Western NewŠtokavien accentuation and other idioms with the parallelevolution, in order to classify Croatian accentual norm in one ofthe fundamental books scienifically based, and usable andacceplable to any user.

Research goals: The primary aim of this project is: theoretical foundation and development of the Croatian normative accentology and, at the same time, disposition of the completely concrete standard norm based on its live basis - Croatian organic accentuation purified in autonomous standard consciousness. All this will be presented in an extensive book including the origins, the internal system and developmental tendencies of standard accentuation to serve, with its theoretical part and non alphabetic accentual typological dictionary, to further accentual research work, and with the register and mentioned dictionary to all who are interested in standard accents and in the first place, to people having literary language as their professional menas.
