Summary: In ancient Greek and Latin records and in the ancient
epitaphs and other inscriptions, the toponomastic and the anthroponomastic
elements connected with the area of contemporary Croatia and the
neighboring regions are surveyed and the elements of the geographic
distribution of the single names are established. These names can
conditionally be considered as remains of the languages spoken in the
respective areas.
Research goals: To establish which languages, and, if possible,
languages of which kind, were spoken in our country and the neighbouring
areas before their Romanization. Other information about the project.
