WH-words have neitheran interrogative nor relative inherent meaning. Their
inherentmeaning is one of an indefinite operator.

Summary: The noun genitive-accusative syncretism in Slavic languages
isconditioned primarily by personhood/animacy of the referent. Bypronouns
definiteness of the referent plays the main role.Adjectives are more likely
to be syncretized if they substitute anoun than if they only modify it and
nouns without a modifierhave a genitive form for accusative even more
rarely.

Onthe bases of the analysis the author shows that the vaticanmissal
Illirico 4 is the most conservative of all analysedmissals. The facts
justify the division of missals into thesouthern and the northern group,
but they also warn us to becarefull when we determine the affiliation of

Title: On Some Rare and Unusual Forms in Croatoglagolitic Codices
- Authors:
- Mihaljević, Milan (79274)
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The author analyzes some rare and peculiar forms and
expressions in Croatoglagolitic codices. The substitution od the word vr6t6
with the word vrata is explained by misreading of the Latin form hort- as
port- in the protograph. The author notes an example of the substitution of
the phoneme v with f in the word vrač6 (frač6) as well as the deletion of
the final t in the word redost6 in the Breviary of Vid Omišljanin. The
gemination of the consonant z in the word naz'zad6 is explained by peculiar
formation na+s6zad6 as well as assimilation in voiceness after the omission
of jer. Then the 3. person of imperfect plural form dučahu as well as hapax
legomena or very rare words eg, mež6, kolovarstvie, ton'bina and cindat6
are described. In a singlel "Rešpon" from the breviary as many as four
different verbs from the same stem occur: vskisati, vskiseleti, vskisnuti
and vskiseti. These are their only occurences. Finally, the author draws
attention to an interesting example of the usage of dual and plural forms
as well as the change of empathic perspective as a stylistic means in a
breviary text.

Title: The Syntactic Structure of Croatian Alternative Questions
- Authors:
- Mihaljević, Milan (79274)
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The paper deals with the syntactic structure of alternative
questions in Croatian. The author gives arguments against James D.
McCawley's description of this type of questions, and suggests for Croatian
alternative questions a description according to which they are treated as
(eliptical) biclausal structures with only one Q-operator. On the other
hand, nonalternative disjunctive questions are either not biclausal or each
clause has its own Q-operator.

Title: The Samobor Fragment of a Glagolitic Breviary
- Authors:
- Šimić, Marinka (112816)
Language: hrvatski
Summary: In this paper a glagolitic fragment of Breviary (Psalter)
found in Franciscan monastery in Samobor is described. Paleographic and
linguistic analysis shows that this fragment was written at the end of the
14th or at the begining of the 15th century. Comparison with other
Croato-Glagolitic psalters has shown that this fragment preserves archaic
linguistic characteristics. It can thus be concluded that its matrix was
very old. Lexicaly it matches very well the canonical Sinai Psalter.
