Summary: Four years have elapsed from the begining of the project.
Its aims are identified in this article and the results disscused.
Tentative answers are offered to several questions which have been our
concern thrughout the procject. These include whether we have discovered an
optimal age to start teaching foreign language and what characteristic and
abilities of children should be considrerd in teaching. In addition, what
sort of teacher we need for young children and what teaching procedures and
