Summary: Velimir Deželić's novel is analyzed from the context of
Croatian historical novel. We noticed significant thematical and
expressional connection to some novels of that time (Milutin Mayer). The
text is adjusted to the Library (historical characters and bacground of the
novel are singled out).

Summary: The article reexamines the old hypothesis about Gundulić as
a student of the Jesuits. After the analysis and the comperison of some of
Kašić's religiously spiritual texts with Gundulić's Suze sina razmetnoga ,
the poem Od veličanstva Božjijeh and the translations of some psalams, the
author endeavours to show that between B. Kašić and I. Gundulić there
existed a strong spiritual works contain many ideological and world-view
conceptions that are identical.
