Summary: The main characteristics of the sentence modality (type of asentence, constituent structure) are mainly explained on thedescriptive level and in the studies of some individual forms andit is not sufficiently analysed and systematically exposed as alinguistic phenomenon. The aim of this work is a systematicresearch of sentence modality , eg. indicative, assertive,non-assertive, affirmative, negative, imperative and exclamativeforms. Instead of a structural and transformational evaluation wepropose an analysis of sentence modality based on a vector.

Research goals: -to give a coherent systematisation of the sentence modality based on the semantic component -to answer some questions reffering to the transformation of kernel sentences into their transformed counterparts -this work will result with a book based on a systematic study of sentence modality
