werepresent in hundred years of research of croatian musical history, from
the seventies of the 19th c. (with works of Franjo KsaverKuhač) to 1974.,
when first modern survey of Croatian music byJosip Andreis occured. Three
main researchers were active in thisfield: F.Ks. Kuhač, B. irola and J.
Andreis; no one did muchresearch in the field of classics in the Croatian
music history. Here is presented which sources they used for their
historicalsurveys. Also, as one of the fundamental problems, the questionof
periodization occurs: periodization of classical period, andperiodization
of the whole music history in Croatia. In relationto this problem, the
question of "national" and "international"style is connected.

Summary: In solo concertos of the second half of the 18th

typicalBaroque ritornello concerto, in which elements of a new sonatastyle
emerge, up to the sonata Allegro of the mature VienneseClassics. In the
first movements of 17 violin concertos byIvan Jarnović - one of the so
called "Kleinmeister"- theFranco-Italian tradition is combined with both:
sonata style andBaroque binary form, e.g. poly-thematicism, mosaically
conceived"development", elements of motive procedures, and
consistentrecapitulation. Some other specifities mark the line
ofdevelopment and Jarnović's opus in general.

Summary: Giuseppe Michiele Stratico (1728-after 1782) - the
composer, violinist and descendant of noble families Stratico and Castellidi

personal, compositional and perfoming ones -,in a friendly way, rich in
influences, and almost certainly ofthe master (Tartini) and pupil
(Stratico). Stratico may beincluded among the ten most authentic pupils and
followers ofTartini, albeit they obviously grew apart towards the end
ofTartini's life. Stratico left an opus of some 330-350compositions (violin

housed in Berkeley (USA) anditalian libraries.
