Summary: The origin and colonization of the population of Zagreb,
Brod, Samobor and Sisak have been investigated. Field investigations and
archival work in Zagreb and Vienna were done. Within the archival work,
special emphasis was put on thestudying of the origin, migrations and
ethnogenesis of the Croatian population and on the old plans of the
Croatiansettlements.

Research goals: The aim of this project is to become more and more
acquainted with the population and the settlements of the Republic of
Croatia. For this purpose, the settlements Zagreb, Slav. Brod, Samobor and
Sisak were chosen. Migrations and the ethnogenesis ofthe population of
Lika and Krbava were investigated, the originof Vlasi, Šokci and Bunjevci
was also studied. Manuscripts "TheCroats - Their Folk Life and Traditional
Culture" (550 pages withsupplements), "Brod and Its Surrounding. Cultural
and Historical Monograph" (800 pages with supplements) and "The
Ethnogenesis of the Population of Lika and Krbava" (120 pages with
supplements) were finished. The book "Descriptio Croatiae", Zagreb 1993
(380pages with supplements) was published. Some of the smaller workswere
also published or are still within the publishing procedure.
