   Summary: Research into the quality of life of adulte in Croatia included astudy on the way cultural activities affest the overall qualityof life. Quality of life implies satisfaction with one's existinglifestyles, i.e. work, health, and the financial, educational,social, cultural, and creative aspects of one's life. The degreeof development and entertainment, the media, reading, hobbies, inthe arts, etc. Of the nineteen factors singled out during thestudy of the main components, six refer to cultural activitiesonly, and this fact was taken into account in the discusion ofthe results obtained.

   Summary: The significance of cultural and social activities in the overall quality of life is verified in empirical research of a sample of 520 adult, employed people in Croatia. Quality of life is defined as the degree of satisfaction with material wealth, employment; social, educational, cultural and recreational aspects of life. The content of cultural activities are considered through quantity and type, and the degree of participation. Factor analysis of the main components led to a determination of 19 quality-of-life factors of which 6 are directly related to culture-arts or social activities, which confirms their importance in overall quality of life measurements.
