Summary: Investigations in this research program will be a continuation of our earlier works and will be concerned with different parts of Functional Analysis. This will include the following areas: operator theory in Hilbert spaces with positive and also with an indefinite metric, spectrum of an element in Banach algebras and in algebras of operators, similarity of operators, semigroups and cosine operator functions, infinitesimal generators, Landau type inequalities for infinitesimal generators, generalizations of known inequalities and finding new inequalities and their applications, functional equations in vector spaces and on some algebraic and topological structures, reprezentations of Lie groups and algebras, C*-algebras over matrices, applications of operator theory in Physics (Klein-Gordon equation), eigenvalues of certain classes of operators, minimax properties of eigenvalues, some variational methods in nonlinear analysis and applications to differential equations, theorems in measure theory of Steinhous type, summability theory and applications in probability theory, 2-normed spaces and operator theory in such spaces.
