Summary: Project is concerned with theoretical investigations dealing with problems of structure and interaction of elementary particles, following and covering current trends of development in the field: a) phenomenology of particle physics, gauge field theories, symmetries and supersymmetries, b) unification of fundamental forces; c) q-deformed algebras and Chern-Simons theories; d) superstrings and Calabi-Yau manifolds; e) quark-gluon plasma at finite temperatures and density; f) quantum groups, q-deformed algebras and nonrelativistic anyons.

Keywords: elementary, particle, interaction, structure, quark, unification, force, anyon, quantum, group, quon, symmetry, lepton, hadron, gluon, algebra, relativistic, scattering, gravity, string

Research goals: Methods of collective fields will be applied in the limit of large N. Formulation of quantum field theories for particles with fractional statistics will bee further studied. Studies of rare kaon decays which are almost forbiden in standard theories will be studied and published. The role of the Peccei-Quinn symmetry in extended models of CP symmetry violation will be further studied. Extensive considerations of the Compton scattering on nucleon in perturbative QCD will be brought to an end and published. Studies of mesons as bilocal fields in harmonic approximation, and mesons as nontopological solitons will be continued and published. The connection of gauge SU(N) groups and effective theories of spin systems will be investigated. Also chiral phase transitions with quantum corrections shall be studied. The Wilson loop with light-like sides, up to 4th order in QCD, will be evaluated and its renormalizability checked. Deformed SU(2) Heisenberg chain will be studied, and the stability of symmetry breaking in the SU(5) model will be checked. Work on the application of quantum groups in physics will be continued, and the physical relevance of anyons and quons will be studied. Work on conformal groups and 2D gravity will go on. Investigation of the compactification of superstring theories will also continue. Extensive studies of the piNN vertex will be closed and published.
