Title: Pressure drag on the Dinaric Alps during the ALPEX SOP
- Authors:
- Tutiš, Vlasta (91433)
- Ivančan-Picek, Branka (17012)
Journal: Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics
ISSN: 0177-7971
Volume: 47
Year: 1991
Pages: from 73 to 81
Number of references: 19
Language: engleski
Summary: On the basis of microbarographic measurements around the
Dinaric Alps during the ALPEX SOP, the total pressure drag vectors are
computed using Archimedes law. The 3-hourly temporal variations of these
drag vectors are examined for different synoptic events.
Keywords: pressure drag, ALPEX SOP, microbarographic data
Title: Mesoscale bora flow and mountain pressure drag
- Authors:
- Ivančan-Picek, Branka (17012)
- Tutiš, Vlasta (91433)
Journal: Meteorol.Zeitschrift,N.F.
ISSN: 0941-2948
Volume: 4
Year: 1995
Pages: from 119 to 128
Number of references: 22
Language: engleski
Summary: On the basis of 10-minute microbarographic measurements
(ALPEX SOP, March-April 1982) compared the bora periods and the
corresponding surface pressure drag values. It is shown that the pressure
drag is highly correlated with the cross-mountain pressure differences. The
results suggest the possibility of application of the linear regression
method in the drag estimation for periods for which microbarographic data
are not available.
Keywords: bora, microbarographic measurements, mountain pressure drag, linear regression method
Title: Mesoscale characteristics of southern Adriatic bora storms
- Authors:
- Jurčec, Vesna (19220)
- Visković, Smiljan
Journal: Geofizika
ISSN: 0352-3659
Volume: 11
Year: 1994
Pages: from 33 to 46
Number of references: 20
Language: engleski
Summary: The bora in Dalmatia is compared to the better known bora
in the norhern Adriatic during the period January 1980 to January 1983. Two
"bora types" according to local weather characteristics are distinquished.
"Dark bora" (cyclonic type) is characterized by deeper surface cyclone, in
contrast to "clear bora" when mesoscale cyclone is further to the east of
Adriatic.
Keywords: severe bora, mesocyclone, ALPEX SOP
Title: Methodology and application of the High Resolution
Isentropic Diagnostic Model (HRID)
- Authors:
- Glasnović, Dražen (13502)
- Čačić, Ivica
- Strelec, Nataša (204866)
Journal: Osterreichische Beitrage zu Meteorologie und Geophysik
Number: 357
ISSN: 1016-6254
Volume: 10
Year: 1994
Pages: from 109 to 136
Number of references: 16
Language: engleski
Summary: The High Resolution Isentropic Diagnostic Model (HRID)
based on the polinomial hydrostatic adjustment technique (PHAT) is
described. It represents a methodology to compute vertical cross-sections
in time and space, as well as a number of thermodynamic and stability
parameters. Special attention has been paid to the interpretation of the
finer scale meteorological phenomena.
