    Language: hrvatski
Summary: In mid-November 1993 two succesive cold air outbreaks with abundant snowfall affected large areas of continental Croatia. The results from both temporal and spatial composite vertical cross sections reveal that this event was caused by intense frontogenetic processes in the middle and upper troposphere. Shortly before the actual events took place, a large proportion of the upper thropospheric total energy was avalilable for conversion into kinetic energy. Later in the development, an abrubt and intense redistribution of mass in the lower throposphere was evident.

Summary: The influence of topography is considered and surface pressure drag over Dinaric Alps is calculated. The potential vorticity and its influence on the development on mesoscale processes is investigated and some new thermodynamical parameters are introduced. These concepts are applyed to two cases:severe bora event and snowstorm in Gorski kotar.
Keywords: mesoscale processes, surface mountain drag, potential vorticity, severe bora, snowstorm
