Summary: Some methods of chemical analysis were worked out: spectrophotometric method for the Si(IV) determination with reagent 3,6-dichloro-2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone; spectrophotometric method for the determination of SiO2 in cement with chloranilic acid; spectrophotometric method for the determination of Al(III) with chromazurol S reagent and Fe(III) with 5-sulphosalycilic acid in bauxite. Complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) with 4-(2-quinolylmethileneamino)-1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-5-pyrazolone and a possibility of their analytical application were studied. Considerable chromatographic investigations were performed: method for qualitative analysis of cations within 6 analytical groups by thin layer chromatography on microcrystalline cellulose was worked out; method for systematic qualitative analysis of cation mixtures by thin layer chromatography on microcrystalline cellulose was also made; chromatographic behaviour of arsenic and antimony ions was investigated and a method for separation of mixture and identification of Sb(III), Sb(V), As(III) and As(V) by TLC on cellulose was done; thin layer chromatographic behaviour of substituted phenolic compounds on silica gel layers impregnated with Al(III) and Cu(II) was studied. Chemical and analytical propertiesof flavonoides in peppermint leaves were considered. Inhibitory effects of dimethyl-0-(2,2-dichlorovinil)phosphate (dichlorvos) on the growth of Aspergillus ochraceus and ochratoxin A syntesis was controled by analytical methods. Influence of tabacco maturation time on decomposition of its proteins and on alteration of its metal-protein compounds was also analytically monitored. Ecological investigations with use of methods and techniques of chemical analysis were performed: effect of metals and ammonia on SO2 oxidation to sulphates in ambient air; heterogenous oxidation of SO2 on Mg, Ca, Al, Fe and Si oxide particulate; removal of cadmium from waste water by micobe (Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli)biomass

Keywords: Chemical analysis methods and techniques, qualitative and quantitative analysis, spectrophotometry, thin layer chromatography, analytical methods in ecology

Research goals: Aims of investigation have been set: working out some methods and techniques, in the first place, chromatographic (TLC) and spectrophotometric methods, for qualitative and quantitative analysis of ions nad compounds; investigation of some reagents for analytical purpose;studies of metal-complex ions properties; application of analytical methods and techniques in ecological investigations, et.c. Considerable number of expected results was obtained during these investigations.
