Summary: The subject of our investigation was essential oil and
terpeneaglycones isolated from Thymus pulegioides L. The majorconstituents
found in the oil and aglycones were geraniol andlinalool. This is somewhat
unusual as thymol and carvacrol havebeen characterized as the major
constituents of the Thymusspecies oils. So this Thymus pulegioides L.
should be more valuedfor its perfume oil than for its medicinal properties.

Summary: The essential oils and aglycones, obtained from the
plantmaterial of Thymus pulegioides L., were investigated by means ofGC-MS.
The largest contents, in the essential oils, belong to themonoterpene
alcohols geraniol and linalool. In the hydrolysate, relatively large
percentages of geraniol and eugenol weredetected.
These investigations shows moderate correlation between thestructure of
the free and glycosidic bound volatiles.

Summary: In this paper we described areas and estimated amounts
forwild grown medicinal and aromatic plants of Dalmatia. Some ofmore
conventional medicinal and aromatic plants can besuccessfully plantationed
owing to the optimal climatic and soilconditions. There are shown the
possibilities of the improvementof plant production and manufacture in
sense of finalisation. Itwill result larger financial effect.
It was accentuated the possibility of the better collaborationof the
scientific institutions with existing industry.

Summary: Volatile compounds from propolis, collected from two
different regions of Croatia and analysed by capillary gas
chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), differed qualitatively and
quantitatively. The major components of Dalmatian propolis were terpenes
and terpenoides (31.86%), while benzyl alcohol, benzoic acid and benzyl
benzoate were predominant in propolis from Slavonia. The compounds alpha
and beta-pinene, gamma-terpinene, alpha-muurolene, gamma and delta-cadinene
have not been previously identified from propolis. The relationship between
the origin of the propolis and chemical composition of the volatile
compounds from propolis will be discussed.

Summary: The large amounts of ballast substances make difficult
theisolation,purification and identification ofmonoterpenylglycosides from
plant extracts.
In previous investigations the purification ofmonoterpenylglycosides
from the plant extract was carried outsuccesively with organic solvents. In
this work we investigatedmethods of selective adsorption the
monoterpenylglycosides oncharcoal and Amberlite XAD-2. Final purification
was carried outwith column chromatography. These methods were conducted by
puremonoterpenylglycosides which were synthetised especcially forthis
purpose in this laboratory.
We suggest the investigated method of the adsorption becauseit is more
selective then the method of the extraction withorganic solvents

Summary: The plant material of Thymus pulegioides L. was collected
insubmediterranean region of Dalmatia for a few years and atdifferent
seasons.
The composition and content of the free and glycosidic boundterpene
alcohols were studied depend on development and drying ofthe plant.
The glycosidic fraction was hydrolised by á-glycosidase andaglycone
obtained, as well as essential oil were investigatedwith gas liquid
chromatography and mass spectrometry.
The composition and content of terpene in this wild Thymus wasvery
different from other Thymus species, because of the largeamounts of
geraniol and linalol and small of thymol andcarvacrol. The ratio of
geraniol and linalol was changed bydrying of the plant material. Between
the aglicones weidentifieted some of the terpene alcohols and phenols and
samealiphatic alcohols which were present in essential oil.

Summary: The flowers of the wild everlasting helichrysum
angustifoliumD.C. were collected from may to july on the island of
Vis(Croatia).
The yield and the chemical composition of the essential oilobtained by
hydrodistillation from fresh and air dried flowerswas the subject of our
study.
The analysis of the essential oils were carried out by coupledgas
chromatography-mass spectrometry. The present work providesinformation
about harvesting and distillation time in the aim ofobtaining the best
yield and quality of the oil.

Summary: The aim of this work was the isolation of the volatile
compounds from the flowers of broom (Spartium Junceum L.) bz means of
hydrodistillation and petroleum ether extraction (concrete) and their
identification by GC-MS. Volatile oils obtained by hydrodistillation
contained such substances as caprylic (1.84-9.57%) and capric acid
(1.03-3.91%) which are responsible for their rough odor. The concretes and
alcohol-soluble absolutes possesses a sweet and honey like odor due to
large amount of substances appearing in plant extracts and essential oils.
The absolute of which gas chromatographis results and sensory evulation
indicated to be closest to the odor of fresh broom flowers can be use in
the creation of fragrance base.

Summary: In this paper the relation of the free and glycosidically
bound volatile compounds from thyme, Thymus vulgaris L. was investigated.
There was also studied the influence of the plant growing and drying of the
plant material on the content and composition of free and glycosidically
bound volatile compounds. Aglycones, as well as essential oils, were
analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The major aglycones were
eugenol, thymol, carvacrol, 2-phenylethanol, benzyl alcohol, methyl
salicilate, p-cymen-8-ol, 1-octen-3-ol, 3-hexen-1-ol and
hydroxyacetophenones.

Summary: The material used in the present study originates from
plants cultivated in Dalmatia. The essential oil was obtained by
hydrodistillation of the dried leaves in a Clevenger-type apparatus. The
yield was w=0.17%. To facilitate the analysis of the essential oil, 20 ul
of oil were fractionated by liquid-solid chromatography using silicagel.
The oil and its fractions were analysed by gas chromatography-mass
spectrometry. The assential oil of Lippia citriodora contains a great
number of compounds. We identified about forthy terpenic compounds.
