Summary: Investigation the garnets of various type of metamorphic
rocks from Selečka mountain suggest their formation in prograde metamorphic
rocks as in muscovite schist and amphibole schist or highly metasomatic
condition as in aplite granite, aplite and metabasite. Geometric approach
is used tp present the path of metamorphic reactions in metabasite. The
reactions obtained by diagram are proved with detail microscopic
examination. Differences and relations between mineral assemblage of
amphibole schist and amphibolites from Psunj were investigated by various
methods. Mineral assemblages belong to transition zone between greenschists
and amphibolite facies.
Research goals: Principal idea to study chemical changes the garnets
from various metamorphic rocks of Selečka mountain is to establish the type
of metamorphic proccess. The relation metamorphic proccess and chemistry of
garnets were studied on representative patterns. Chemistry of garnets from
Selečka were correlated with literature data to solve the type of
metamorphic proccess. Succession of metamorphic reactions in metabasite
from Selečka are solved with geometric approach by Schreinemaker.
Established differences in minerals and find out the conditions of
metamorphism in amphibole bearing mineral assemblages. Other information about the project.
