Summary: GIZIS is an information system about the entire Earth space including lithosphere,hydrosphere, biosphere and atmosphere. Therefore, it comprises a number of specialized fields such as geology, geodesy, agriculture, forestry, area planning, ecology, meteorology, traffic and others. In this regard, GIZIS is specific for its geo-coded data, requirement of particular software as well as a specific hardware.

Research goals: Objective of the Project is a definition of joint bases of GIZIS of Croatia which will then serve as a foundation for a unifiedway of defining the joint geographic (geodetic) basis and developing the application geo-coded data and their appurtenant information systems. Elaboration of unified work methodologies, of organizing the distributed databases and providing theobtaining of relevant information.
