Summary: Considered are some problems in steel metallurgy that were found in certain phases of steel tubes production, as well as the criteria for the estimation of fuel and raw material quality (secondary raw material included); the possibility of their preparation and application and the mechanisms of some reactions in the systemof metal-slag-coat-air that will anable an easier direction of the process of secondary refining of liquid steel; the influence of oligo-elements and alloying additions, as well as the influence of ways of processing and thermic treatment on technological, mechanical and applicable features (with special attention to the corrosion) of scam tubes and scamless tubes which require better quality. The object of this paper is to obtain new knowledge and new technology in order to apply the method of diagnosis and expert systems.

Research goals: The object of this project concerns four very important fields in metallurgy: possible raw materials, secondary materials, investigations on refining processes, casting, steel contraction, warming up and cooling of semi-products on metallurgy and also the analysis of how the composition, structure, recasting and thermic processes have on the characteristics of domestic steel tubes. An introduction of a new method for predicting the quality of raw materials is expected (coke, for instance), the phases of reduction of some raw materials, the improvement of raw material quality by introducing new methods for desulphuration; with steel: the protection of casting spurt, the influence of casting powder on the quality of cast-steel surfaces, possible optimizing models warming up, the production of low-alloy domestic steel which are used for tubes in oil industry.
