Summary: The optimal construction project presents a
compromise solution between the most convenient value of object function
and constrain factors. The guarantee of strenght, stiffness, safety and
workability of constraints,is of dominant importance. These factors
determine the choice of materials and dimensions.Since all these factors
depend on construction load, the structural analysis which comprises
external load, the determination of stresses and strains as well as the
safety of construction, presents the synthesis of the most important
factors in optimal design. This project defines the methods and procedures
for structural analysis of construction regarding the optimal
project, which could enable the best efficiency of materials if a defined
safety of construction in exploitation is ensured. The structural analysis
is based on analytical and numerical methods. The most used method is the
finite element method, and in some cases the finite volume method. In
calculation, different influential factors of external load must be
considered. In view of numerical solutions, the structural analysis is given
by computer.
Keywords: geometrical member properties of transversal sections, shear stress, thin walled structures, numerical analysis, stiffness, computer, finite element method, strain, normal stress, external load, main stress, main strain
Research goals: Structural analysis is of prime importance in
the phase of construction design and in the forming of optimal
project. The expertness of stress and strain values in any point of
construction, enables the compliance of strains relating to strenght and
stiffness of construction as well as on its safety and workability. The
main goals of this project are the establishment of methods and procedures
for construction structural analysis. These methods comprise different
strains which include static and dynamic influences, thermal influences and
frictional mechanisms from the tribological point of view. This project
work comprises the development of analytical and numerical methods with
special emphasis on finite element method. Results are expected in the
formulating of the most suitable methods for structural analysis, which in
the methodics of construction could give results to ensure both optimal
efficiency of the materials used and the safety and durability of
constructions in exploitation.Numerical procedures of structural
analysis, together with the given loads, make part of the computer
programme.
