Summary: The project comprises: 1. The analysis of stresses in the
fields of high gradients of deformations caused by geometrical
discontinuities because of curvature of contours or at the vicinity of
cracks and cuts. 2. Experimental and numerical determination of stress
intensity factors and stress concentration. 3. Complement of caustic
method and modification of the stereophotogrametry and stress pattern
analysis by thermal emission for analyzing sresses in high gradients of
strains. 4. Investigation of influence of plastification on stress
intensity factor decreasing. 5. Development of adaptable and commonly used
procedures for image processing system.
Research goals: 1. Corrections of the known solutions for the stress
concentration factors in the field of high gradients for the basic
geometrical discontinities for two and three dimensional problems. 2. By
using these results and linear characteristics of the stress intensity
factors is planed to be done for the discontinuity with the singular value
(the change of geometry without curvation). 3. The modification of
experimental method of caustic and designing of a universal method for
investigation of cracks in mechanicalaly isotropic and anisotropic
material. 4. To investigate posibilities of application of other optical
methods (SPATE, stereophotogrammetry) for the high stress concentration in
cases where the caustic method is not reliablein use. 5. Development of
the flexibile system for automatic image processing system that comprises
the image digitalizacionand processing the stresses, deformations,
displacements andevaluating stress concentration and stress intensity
factor (equipement, programs).
