Summary: Concentrations of same gases, especially oxygen, carbon
dioxide and ammonia, have a major influence on character of water in
which they are dissolved. Processes of aeration and degasation, or
generally said transportation of gas in or out of liquid phase, depends on
various conditions. These conditions are consisted of temperature,
pressure, but also of aeration/degasation system that is used. The
investigation of gas transportation from phase to phase is partly
theoretical but mostly experimental.
Research goals: Besides the basic convection in convenient
conditions, the outlet of same gas from e.g. drop of liquid could be
realized only if concentration gradient is present (Fick's law). Therefore,
the diffusion constant depends on gas and liquid type, temperature,
pressure, surface tension and most of all on degasation system. Special
cases are degasation by spraying fluid into air or steam, system of
counter-stream fluid leading over the contact plates or in other words
spraying gas or steam in liquid. Consequently, degasation effect is changed
with contact area and liquid layer depth. The purpose of this research is
an investigation of the process, mechanism of transport gas-liquid, and
especially, the energy spending analysis particularly for each degasation
system. An additional aim is investigation of boundary conditions of gas
concentration alternation due to disturbances in water solubility
equilibrium. Therefore, it is to define boundary concentrations,
especially, of carbon dioxide when scale formation is up to occur. Of
special interest is influence of other mineral salts, beside calcium, on
solubility of calcium carbonates and carbon dioxide. Besides mentioned, the
matter of research is process of dissolvation gasses in water, especially
aeration systems, - effect and degree of saturation with oxygen, and
influence of different concentrations on oxidation process of iron,
manganese and ammonia. Expected scientific contribution is based upon
closer comprehension about gas transportation from one to another phase and
understanding how disturbances leads from an old to a new equilibrium.
