Summary: The purpose of this project is the fundamental research of the mechanism, intensity and structure of a two-phase liquid-wapor system, occurring during the vibration of the heating surface. A particular attention is paid to the influence of the applied heating surface vibration on the boundary layer parameters fluctuations. Experimental research of the phenomena of a boundary layer heat transfer is a contribution in understanding of the mechanism of heat and mass transfer in two-phase liquid-wapor systems. Recent research work of the two-phase heat transfer flow shows that intensity of these processes depends on the two-phase flow structure as well as on the boundary layer energy and mass transfer. It was noticed that level of turbulence in a continual phase has a dominant influence on the intensity of this process. Parameter analysis of the influence of the heating surface fluctuations on the heat transfer coefficient for pure liquids and their mixtures is performed with the aim of increasing technical systems design quality.

Research goals: Research of heat and mass transfer in a two-phase flow with presence of the heating surface vibration represents a model of research work of the phenomena of heat and mass transferoccurring during the boundary layer vibration. Using this method,the superposition of accidental vibrations of the boundary layer parameters on statistical vibrations as a result of natural behavior of the system was done. The results offer a better possibility for understanding of the two-phase system heat transfer which could be applied as a basis for mathematical modeling and description of these processes. This program represents the continuation of the research work dealing with bubble growth in a superheated liquid begun by professor F.Bošnjaković. The research work includes both the fundamental studies and the study of the possibility of applying vibrations to improve various technical systems heat and mass transfer. This research is particulary important for systems with unbalanced mechanical forces. This unbalance causes undesirable vibrations of heating surfaces which are the source of various processes with unpredictable technical effects.
