    Summary: Three-dimensional photoplastic analzsis is emplozed for modellingof forming processes such as upsetting, extrusion, drawing andbulging. The polzcarbonate which exhibits pronunced zieldbehaviour and birefringent properties close to conventionalstrain optic law is applied as a model material. The slicesremoved from the unloaded permanentlz deformed bodies are used toisolate the planes of interest for the determination of principalstrains on principal strain axes.

    Summary: The types of forming processes have been anlyzed concerning the influence of contact friction conditions to the strain state in deformed photoplastic model specimen. The isochromatic fringe patterns were registered in selected planes of the deformed an unloaded models for different surface roughness of the tools and teh application of lubricant. Ring compression test was used in the quantitative determination of the friction coefficient.
