Summary: An experimental and analytical programme regarding drainage
characteristics of granular stone pavement subbase/base courses is
realized. These characteristics are analysed in terms of frost
susceptibility, as well as in terms of good internal drainage properties of
pavement structures. The aim of these researches is establishing the more
realistic criteria for granular materials in order to improve existing
specifications.
Research goals: The goals of the researching is to develope more
realistic criteria for base course granular materials of pavement
structures. It is expected that results of the research make possible to
improve existing technical specifications in order of more economic use of
local materials. This could have significant influence on construction
cost savings.
