Summary: The Project consists of three parts which are connected and
takenas a whole will yield the results contained in the title. Thefirst
part deals with stochastic relations between the resultsobtained by
Proctor's compaction test and the consistency limitsand concludes that
there exists a firm bond between the liquidlimit Wll and the dry density
obtained by Proctor's test. Thesecond part deals with the possibility to
determinate liquidlimit Wll using the one-point method with Cassagrande
apparatusand the fall-cone penetrometer method. It has been concluded
thatone-point method can be used after the preliminary determinationof the
exponent in the respective equation for defining theliquid limit Wll from
the moisture content obtained from theexperiment. Seemingly, the value of
the exponent suggested bysome standards (e.g. DIN) is not suitable for
general use. Thethird part of the Project contains the methodology
fordetermining the specification limits which can be used for thequick and
simple control of the quality of the built-in earthmaterial. This suggests
the application of the samples method andits means instead of the control
by individual measurements. Italso states possibility of reaching wrong
conclusions if thecontrol method is applied using the results of
individuals.

Summary: This paper consider bearing capacity of strip footing
onnonhomogeneous and anisotropic rock system. The influence ofthickness,
position and orientation of layer with greatdifference in characteristics
(of deformation and shear strength)in comparison to main rock mass, is
considered. The influence isobserved by analyze of changing the value of
bearing capacity incomparison to bearing capacity of homogeneous and
isotropic rockmass. Also is analyzed the influence of modeled
discontinuitiesbetween layers and the discontinuity between the footing and
rockmass. Analyze for nonhomogeneous and anisotropic half space ofrock mass
is made by finite element method (computer programZ_SOIL) and finite
difference method (computer program FLAC). Forhomogeneous and isotropic
rock mass, beside previously mentionedmethods, calculation of bearing
capacity is made also with"classic" theories (Tezaghi, Meyerhof, etc.)
