Summary: Continued are the investigations in the fields of
structural analysis, stuctural design, obtaining of earthquake resistance
and economy and detailing in contemporary architecture, especially
multistory and large-span buildings. Further investigations deal with the
rational proportioning of reinforced concrete elements according to modern
european codes.
Keywords: theory of structures, theory of stability, second-order theory, structural dynamics, structural design, multistory buildings, large-span buildings, reinforced-concrete elements, eurocodes
Research goals: The goal of the research are more economic and safe
buiding designs in architecture in general and especially in seismic
regions. Simple solutions are given for the governing internal forces,
buckling weights, seconds-order effects and free-vibration periods of
combined shearwall-frame systems, plane and spatial cyclo-symmetric
moment-resisting frames and trusses and outrigger-braced systems. The
solutions include the effects of basic and accidental torsion. New systems
are developed for large-span buildings consisting of
hyperbolic-paraboloidal shells and prismatic and polyhedral folded plates.
Plastostatic solutions are derived for some two-way slabs. Further,
algorithms are developed and formulas and tables given for biaxially loaded
reinforced-concrete beam-columns and the punching-shear problem of plates
of beamless floors. Other information about the project.
