Summary: Architectural material shape has its origin in natural
shapes, but due to its artificial properties it is separated from them.
Natural forms function in accordance with the physical laws, withort any
purpose known to us while the architectural form has its function,
aesthetic, content and message. It has its author, is intended to be
executed and at a certain point is proclaimed to be completed. The
architectural form besides its universality posesses individuality and
detail which clearly translate the universal and pronounced geometric shape
into the architectural form. The architectural form is a category which,
together with the purpose of a building, its invironment, organized space,
meterials, construction and its technique and their interrelationship in
the complex process of design and construction results in an architectural
structure. The architectural form has its historical beginning and
archetypes which are even today used as such or in a more complex and
interlocking way in the process of creation. The aesthetic conception
introduces the architectural form into the domain of fine arts and their
laws. Analysis of the composition of architectural forms reveals too
principal approaches to the aesthetic arrangement: one is conceired
beforehand and can be controlled, although if unexpertly used it may lead
to rigidity. The other is based on irrational feeling which, if the author
is of modest architectural abilities may lead to obscure results. The only
way to master the field and find one's own way is to study the design
methods and analyse recognized architectural achievements at home and
abroad.
Keywords: genesis, material, form, architecture
Research goals: The objective is to establish the relationship
between the natural and architectural forms, their system and its rules and
the spacetime and other contexts of architectural fors in order to
facilitate their appreciation by an observer and provide an architect with
the necessary background and aid in his work. In this research work
indicated are: the relation between the natural and architectural forms in
the domain of materials and the laws of nature, and their differences in
the domain of fuction, construction and aesthetic design. These are the
underlying elements which determine the framework of an architectural work:
spatiality, placement in the natural and cultural environment, genetic
quality, style, conposition and construction with special emphasis on the
space - image relationship.
