Summary: The change of thread tension in the compensating and
knittingzone of knitting machine in some phases of loop formation
isdiscussed. For the purposes of investigations presented in thispaper,
special sensors were constructed. Powers, exerting theirinfluence in the
semi-loop and loop of the plain weave in severalphases of loop formation,
as well as in several cycles, weredetermined. By means of direction and
tension mechanisms, thechange of the thread friction and stiffness of the
thread in allits contact points was studied. The stiffness elasticity
modulusas one of important parameters in this phase of investigation, was
studied. Regarding the dynamism, the automatic regulation ofthe warp thread
feeding was studied and the second degreedifferential equation settled. The
time constant obtained, resp.the period of one cycle of loops formation was
compared with theperiod of one cycle obtained by means of experiments in
theprocess of knitting.

Summary: By means of microscopic method the diameter of
conventionalcotton yarn, spinned from three kinds of cotton, at the
specifictensile force up to 5.5 cN/tex was measured. The decrease of
yarndiameter does not occur linearry, but is more obvious up to theload of
4.5 cN/tex. Fibre counts higher than 24 mtex and lengthsover 2.9 mm exert
no influence on the decrease of diameter, ifunder the yarns with the same
number of twists, spinned fromthree various kinds of cotton no difference
exists in the totalmedium count of 2 tex. The consequence of relatively
short andcoarser fibres is a greater decrease of yarn diameter andincrease
of the coefficient of variation.

Summary: The microscopic method was used for the measurement od
theelongation and diameter of combed cotton yarns 20 tex spun fromdifferent
cotton types: Sudanese cotton "XG5B", Egyptian cottonGiza 75 FG and Turkish
cotton white 1st class. Longitudinal, cross and volume deformation,
relaxation and permanentdeformation of the yarn after relieving under the
influence oftensile stress up to 5.5 cN/tex were investigated (stresses
wereadjusted to the parameters of the technological process of knitfabrics
production). Time influence of tensile force increaseselongation, but the
yarn diameter and volume are decreased. Thedependence of relative
deformations on specific stress is linearwith the correlation coefficient
higher than 0.95. The relativedeformation in the cross direction is greater
than deformation inlongitudinal direction. A yarn spun from shorter and
coarserfibres shows a greater relative deformation in both directions. The
rest of relative longitudinal deformation 12 hours afterrelaxation is from
1.6 to 2.5%, whereas the rest of crossdeformation is greater, that is from
7.4 to 10.4%.

Summary: The contribution discusses the factors considerably
influencingthe surface friction coefficient of yarns. According to
thecurrent knowledges, the coefficient of good waxed yarns is until50%
lower than that of not waxed yarns. For this reason, thesamples were
knitted on automatic hosiery knitting machine, gaugeE 6, with waxed and not
waxed cotton yarns 50 tex, under inputtensions of 5, 10 and 20 cN. The
mechanical properties of yarnsare studied and the parameters of the

andphysical-mechanical properties of yarns are discussed. Theinfluence
exerted by static and dynamic stress and by frictioncoefficient of yarns on
the changes of the basic properties ofstaple fibre yarns is described. With
not waxed and waxed cottonyarns 50 tex the samples of plain weft knit goods
were knitted onautomatic hosiery knitting machine, gauge E 6. The
mainproperties of yarn before and after knitting were determined. Bymeans
of F- and t-test the changes of the properties of yarnscaused by winding

produced on a one cylinder automatic hoisery knittingmachine, gauge E 6,
with paraffined and unparaffined cottonyarns, with the count of 50 tex. The
individual samples wereknitted under different input thread tensions: 5, 10
and 20 cN.The unparaffined yarn had the coefficient of friction 0.18,
whilethree yarns treated with different paraffin kinds had thecoefficients

Summary: In the paper the possibility of application of mathematical
model for rheological presentation of double warp-knitted
fabric is investigated. This model was used for simulation of
application depending on the strain in the fabrics. Elasticity
of double warp knitted fabric is functionally dependent on the
short intervals of strain, but during a long time permanent
deformation of fabric remain. The relationship among the
parameters of the mentioned rheological model depending on
various loads are presented. The computed results are shown in
tables and graphs.

Summary: The influence of knitting speed, yarn type and cam form on
the
structure and the relaxation time of interlock knit fabric
were examined. Three cotton yarns 20 tex with different
caracteristics were used as samples. The samples were knitted
on two interlock knitting machines with a linear cam and 48
knitting systems as well as with unlinear cam and 108 knitting
systems. All most significant parameters of knit structure
were analyzed. The results, which were treated by a factor
plan trial, show that only the cam form has an influence on
the parameters considered with the probability 0,02.

Summary: The reasons for the dimensional instability of knit fabrics
and the problems connected with the shrinkage of plain weft
knit fabric after removing from the knitting machine and after
washing are discussed. For this reason samples of knit fabrics
of various densities were knitted. A single cotton yarn and a
small diameter circular knitting machine were used. The
parameters of the structure of the knit fabric as well as the
properties of the yarn after knitting and after five washes
were analyzed. It was found that by knitting and repeated
washing the parameters of the structure of knit fabric ant the
properties of yarn are changed. It was established that denser
knitted goods shrink less than loosely knitted fabrics.

Summary: For a modern large circular knitting machine with one set
of
needles, with cylinder diameter 0,66 m and with the gauge E
24, an example for the projecting plain plush knitwear is
shown. For knitting the core tread of the fineness 110 dtey
made of polyamide filament yarn, and the combed cotton yarn
should be used for the formation of pile loops. In one hour,
24 m, or 42 m2, or 12,5 kg of knitwear can be produced.
Applying the tehnilogical calculation for a family plant with
four machines, for the annual output 90 t of yarn is needed.
The share of polyamide filament yarn is 20% and the share of
cotton yarn 80%.

Summary: Investigated is the effect of knitting speed and yarn type
changes on interlock knitwear structure durin knitwear
relaxation. Experiments were carried out on two cotton yarns
of fineness 20 tey but with different number of twists and
with different strength. Results show that horizontal and
vertical density, mass 1 m2 and knitwear density coefficient
change with speed increase. Results treated by experiments
plan 2**3 showed that investigated parameters were
considerably effected by relaxation time at assumption p=0,02
and p=0,10. In some case the effect of yarn type at assumption
p=0,02 and of rotations number increase at assumption p=0,10
was established.

thejustifiableness of analysis during strain by various forces
