Summary: The termodinamics of open systems may be applied to social eventsand social development. In this paper, the termodynamic method isapplied to the society as a system. The principle followed was:not man against nature, trying to overpower natural laws("arrange the nature") and thus survive, but man in harmony withnatural laws, man as a part of nature. The other principle usedwas: "What the storm takes, the calm will not return" (a proveab)i.e. social events should take place as near to theequilibrium as possible approaching the reversible process asmuch as possible. When the second law of the thermodynamics isapplied to society i.e. social events, enthropy is interpretednot as disorder but as freedom of individuals.
    Keywords: thermodynamic analysis, social events

Thermodynamic analysis, used in open systems thermodynamics, was applied to examination results: functional dependences of quantity of B2O3 removed (J1) and quantity of CaO which rected with TiO2 (J2) on temperature (T) and duration of isothermal sintering (t) were analyzed, and coefficients calculated which provided and insigt into mutual interdependence of both reactions, i.e. both simultaneous irreversible processes, based on Onsangers phenomenological theses.

    Held: from 03/09/95 to 03/11/95
Summary: In order to reduce the B2O3 content in sintered magnesium oxide as much as possible in precipitation with 80 % of the stoichiometrical quantity of dolomite lime, the effect of the pH of the agent used for rinsing of the magnesium hydroxide precipitate was examined, as well as the effect of manitole in sea water before precipitation. Manitole binds orthoboric acid present in sea water into a weakly dissociated complex acid HB(OC)4. Magnesium oxide samples were sintered at 1500 oC; duration of isothermal sintering was 1 hour. The paper presents density and porosity of individual sintered samples. The ratio CaO/SiO2 indicates that forsterite (Mg2SiO4), monticellite (CaMgSiO4) and mervinite (Ca3MgSi2O8) are formed during sintering of the samples.
