Summary: Electrokinesiological technique (EKT) was used to determine
therelationship between clinical classification of low back pain(LBP)
patients and electrokinesiological data (EKD) duringdynamic activity of
lumbar spine. The investigation included 110patients with LBP and/or
ischialgia of degenerative etiologyclassified according to their symptoms
and signs into fourgroups, and 42 healthy subjects. Group means of
kinematic data(time, speed range of movement) and surface EMG (EMG
activityduring flexion and at peak flexion) showed significantlydifferent
values. EKD obtained by EKT should be considered as anobjective indicator
for distinguishing the degree of functionaldisorder and the finding of
normal spinal function, and can beused for the morbidity screening of
spinal function andanthropological changing of the spine.
