Summary: Estrogen (ER) and progesterone (PR) receptors were
determined in67 samples of endometrial tissue. Twenty-five patients
developedendometrial carcinoma, 22 hyperplasia adenomatosa and 20
patientshad normal findings. In the group of patients with
endometrialcarcinoma 40% of ER+/PR+ tumors, 36% of ER-/PR- tumors, and
24%of ER-/PR+ tumors were found. Median test showed that there wereno
differences among ER concentrations (x2=2,822; p=0,2349), oramong PR
concentrations (x2=3,582; p=0,1668) in the groups ofpatients examined.

Summary: A combination of 2 or 3 tumor markers was determined in the
serumof 478 patients with various malignant tumors.
In the serum of 90 patients with breast cancer increased CA 15-3values were
found in 2/3 of patients with relapse or metastasesand in 1/4 of patients
without signs of tumor.

Summary: Serum samples were taken from patients who developed
metastaticdisease. At the moment distant metastases became
clinicallyevident our results had shown the level of CA 15-3 to
besignificantly higher than the levels of both CA M26 and CAM29.Results
suggest marker CA 15-3 to be more sensitive than theother two. It seems
that CA 15-3 is more closely than the othertwo related to the clinical
status assessed in the follow-upperiod.

Summary: Serum concentrations of CA 15-3, CEA and prolactin were
measuredin patients with breast cancer. In a group of patients whodeveloped
bone metastases osteocalcin was measured also. At leastone of markers was
elevated in 83% of patients. CEA and CA 15-3values were higher in patients
with metastases, and significantlymore patients with metastases had
elevated levels of CA 15-3 thanCEA. Serum PRL levels were raised in 13% of
metastatic patients.Mean level of osteocalcin was higher in patients with
multiplebone metastases.

Summary: Determination of CEA, CA 15-3, CA M26 and CA M29 in serum
ofpatients suffering from breast cancer were made. At the momentdistant
metastases became clinically evident results had shownthe frequency of
positive CA 15-3 to be higher than those of CEA,CA M26 and CA M29. The
ability to detect active disease in anorder of decreasing sensitivity was
CA 15-3 > CEA > CA M29 > CAM26 (0.61, 0.53, 0.51 and 0.47, respectively).
In advanceddisease CA M26 and CA M29 combined together exhibit
lowersensitivity (0.71) than CA 15-3 and CEA (0.79).

Summary: Tumor markers CA 15-3, CEA, osteocalcin (BGP) and
alkalinephosphatase (ALP) in patients with breast cancer were
determined.Significantly more patients who developed distant metastases
hadelevated levels of CA 15-3 than CEA (chi-square 4.251; p<0.04).Under
basal conditions, mean serum BGP levels of most patientsfall within the
normal range. In 9% of patients with multiplebone metastases BGP and ALP
levels were higher after the onset ofantiblastic treatment. After a peak at
1-2 months, bothparameters fall.
