    Summary: A retrospective analysis over 26 years of 41 patients withextrahepatic portal obstruction is presented. It was found thatthe first clinical manifestation of disease, occuring on averageat the age 5 years and 4 months (ranging from 9 months (34.1%),years), was hematemesis or melena (58.5%), splenomegaly(34.1%),anemia(4.8%) and ascites (2.4). The result of investigation wasthat the conservative treatment alone was unsatisfactory foroperative procedure,while successive results were achieved byshunt operation and the most efficient method was sclerotherapy.

    Summary: The influence of atmospheric factors (the average dailyatmospheric pressure,average daily temperature and relativehumidity) on the episodes of bleeding from esophageal and gastricvarices are investigated.     Summary: The study is carried out in 15 patients with acute pancreatitisand multiple organ disfunction. Hemodynamics and oxygen transportfindings were evaluated before and after infusion of 30g humanalbumin and 1500ml of Ringer solution. After the introduction offluid therapy, a significant increase in pulmonary capillarywedge pressure was found, while the cardiac index did not rise.The main disorder in severe acute pancreatitis is not respirationdamage, but peripheral circulation insufficiency.
