Summary: New method for early detection of precanceroses - colorectal adenomas was introduced using the measurement of tissue concentration of CEA in order to obtain a more valuable data than the standard serum concentration, since it is measured at the very site of synthesis. Tissue CEA in precanceroses - colorectal adenomas was investigated with regard to its pathohistologic features and the degree of dysplasia in order to test our hypothesis that the relation between tissue and serum concentration of CEA may indicate the degree of carcinoma spreading. The tissue concentration of CEA is a nonstandard method, exclusively connected with experimental investigations, in contrast to the serum concentration method which is used routinely in clinical practice. The investigation has been also extended to a study of liver function test -indocyanine green, which, according to preliminary investigations in several foreign institutions shows indications for pathologic aberation in conditions connected with shock and ischemia, or some other pathological abnormalities of the liver function, while its behavior in malignant diseases is still unknown.In this connection the ICG decay will be also investigated in combination of hemorrhagic shock with liver cirrhosis and associated with sclerotherapy methods.This is a new problem which escaped attention so far in scientific literature in the world and in the medical practice.

Research goals: The aim of scientific investigation is to introduce a new method of tissue CEA determination for early detection of malignant changes in the colon. For this purpose the relationship between standard serum CEA and experimental tissue CEA in colorectal adenomas, which are regarded as the most common precanceroses,will be determined. In order to establish the applicability of the new method, behavior of tissue CEA with regard to the pathohistologic picture and degree of dysplasia of colorrectal adenomas will be compared. Tissue CEA will be compared with that of healthy persons in order to establish its value in colorectal adenomas. Investigations will be extended with a new method of indocyanine green (ICG) functional testing of ishemic condition of the liver. To confirm the hypothesis that ICG is an effective liver function test, study on its new application in patients with hemorrhagic shock and hepatic cirrhosis will be performed, in connection with sclerotherapy as an efficient method in bleeding control and arrest of hemorrhagic shock. The ICG investigations will be expanded into a new field of pathologic malignant abnormalities of the liver. The results of clinical investigations will be treated by statistical methods and mathematical models. It is expected that the investigations will contribute to early detection of malignant changes, which is of a significant scientific interest and with possible applications in clinical practice.
