Title: Sensorimotor polyneuropathy due to symmetrical lipomatosis
and connected with immunological disorders

Summary: A 70 years old male patient developed the first lipomas in
his adolescence. With the aging the lipomas have become more numerous,
spreading symmetrically along the trunk and extremities. His mother had the
same disorder but a lesser number of lipomas and mother diseases. The
patient was in a good condition until the age of 64 when he developed the
first signs and symptoms of generalised form of myasthenia gravis. Besides
Pyridostigminbromid and corticosteroids, the plasmapheresis treatment were
applied to achieve the recovery of myasthenic symptoms. Bronchial asthma
was diagnosed at the age of 66 and he has regularly been taking
theophyline. He first signs and symptoms of the sensorimotor polyneuropathy
at the age of 68. His polyneuropathy has had a constant progressive course.
The polyneuropathy was confirmed by electromyoneurography and sural nerve
biopsy and demyelinisation and damage of axons were faoun as well. That
neuropathy seems to be on of the overlapping immunological disorders and
usually when on disease improves another impairs. Myasthenia gravis
improves as first, then bronchial asthma appeared and after its improvement
the polyneuropathy is the domineering disorder.
