Summary: Purpose of the following research is to determine the
prevalence of the illness in our region, to find aut the unknown cases and
a special attention is going to be paid to environmental factors which
are specially involved in onset as well as in taking severe course of the
existing illness. Previous investigations showed great differences in
prevalence of Psoriasis among different geographic areas and human races.
Different percentages of onset of the illness in many different parts of
the world and among the human races clearly show that beside genetic,
environmental factors play a great role in onset of the illness. Trigger
factors in adults and children, prevalence and characteristics of psoriatic
Arthritis, connection with blood group system, relation between vitamine D in
psoriatics have been researched.
Keywords: Psoriasis vulgaris,Epidemiology,Prevalence,Trigger factors,Psoriasis arthropatica,HLA system,Atopy,Blood-group system,Vitamine D
Research goals: Aims of proposed investigation are as follows
1.Prevalence of Psoriasis vulgaris in our region 2.Prevalence of psoriatic
arthritis in general population and among the psoriatics and relationship
with HLA system 3.Trigger factors most frequently response for the onset
and course of the illness 4.Trigger factors in children with Psoriasis
vulgaris 5.Relationship between psoriatics and ABO blood-group system
6.Research of vitamine D metabolism in psoriatic patients The aim of the
undertaken reasearches has been to determine the prevalence of the illiness
in this area,to discover unrecognized cases of psoriasis in a context of
the epidemiologic features in this region. It is necessery to point out the
socio-medical aspect of the illness as well as the need of coordinative
work in investigation needed for a succesful preventive measures to prevent
disability which always accompanies psoriasis. A great practical profit has
been expected from thise investigations. Results of this research will be
helpful in planning the local and health services in organizing the health
protection of risky population and,at the same time, providing prevention
services in decreasing longterm hospitalization.
