Summary: An influence of verticalization of the resulting force of
weight-
-bearing on the hip joint "R" on the morphologicalcharacteristics of the
medular canal on the proximal edge of theshaft of femur was researched.
Progressive degenerative changesof the hip joint with consequent sideways
limping or changes ofthe collodiaphysial angle (CCD angle) were the cause
of theverticalization of the resulting force "R". The analysis ofpatients
treated and operated on The Orthopaedic Department ofthe General Hospital
Osijek and The Orthopaedic Clinic of TheMedical Faculty of The Univesity in
Zagreb.
The research undoubtedly, proved that the patients withcoxarthrosis and
sideways limping in the hip or with changedcollodiaphysial angle
experienced verticalization of theresulting force of weight-bearing of the
hip joint and theproximal edge of femur which caused morphological changes
of themedullar canal of the shaft of femur.
Keywords: coxarthrosis, verticalization of the force, side-way limping, changes of medullar canal.

Summary: Aims. To evaluate the diagnostic potential of the
Tc-99labeled Nanocoll in the detection and differentiation ofinflammatory
processes of bones and joints.
Methods. The study included 33 patients: three with bonetumors, three
with arthroses, three with juvenile rheumatoidarthritis, one with
hematogenic osteomyelitis, 13 withposttraumatic or postoperative osteitis
and 10 with suspectinfection of hip prosthesis. Clinical, radiological,
laboratoryparameters and standard bone scintigraphy with
Tc-99mmethylenediphosphonate (MDP) were comparedto the results
ofscintigraphy with Tc-99m Nanocoll.

Summary: The extensive osteolysis of the bone after total
aloarthroplastics of hip represents a particular complication which needs
to be differentiated from septical or unseptical loosening. It is a
aggressive lession that requires surgical treatment without postponement.
In the study 5 patients treated at Department of Orthopaedics of the
General Hospital Osijek for this complications were analyzed. 4 women and 1
man are the subject of the study. The desease appeared between the 1st and
12th year after operational treatment, on average after 6,5 years.
Diagnostical procedures, extent, locations and pathohistological
verification of desease, and especialy intraoperational findings were
analyzed in the study.

Summary: The study dealt with cortical area of the upper part of the
shaft of femur in patients with coxarthrosis. Radiogrametric measurements
of 454 photos of the hip joint and the proximal edge of the shaft of femur
produced in AP projection were performed by means of specially designed
scheme. Values of subperiostal diametar and the lateromedial diametar of
the medullar canal were inserted into formulae for calculation of the
cortical area. After processing the data, we obtained values of the
cortical area of the shaft of femur on sixteen measurement levels in
relation to age, sex, magnitude of the collodiaphysial angle and the
longitude of limping in the hip. In patients with coxarthrosis, owing to
intensified strains, which were the result of the change of direction of
the resulting force of loading, a functional adaptability of the bone
emerges, manifested by an enlargement of the cortical area on some
measurement places.
