Summary: An attempt was made to investigate whether the liver functionaldamage caused by ionizing radiation results in a decrease of theprotein synthesis and whether blood plasma proteins, like theenzyme activity, can serve for the early diagnosis of the liverdamage coused by ionizing radiation. Among determined parametersonly alpha- and gamma-globulin statistically significantlychanged on the 7th day of the experiment; alpha-globulin wereincreased (P<0.05) and gamma-globulins decreased (P<0.01). Thesedata suggest that serum proteins are less sensitive parameters offunctional liver damage in chickens caused by ionizing radiationthan the enzyme activity.
Keywords: radioactive isotope P-32, proteins, protein fractions, protein subfractions, blood plasma, chickens.

Summary: An attempt was made to evaluate whether investigation of theactivity of several enzymes (enzymatic profile) in blood plasmacan help in the diagnosis of organic or functional liver damagecaused by ionizing radiation in the chicken. Throughout theinvestigation there was a decreased tendency of all enzymeactivity levels, but statistically significant decreases wererecorded as follows: on 3th day of the experiment - alanineaminotransferase (ALT) and leucine aminopeptidase, on 5th day -ALT activity, on the 7th day - ALT, lactate dehydrogenase, andalpha-hydroxy-butirate dehydrogenase actibity, and on the 10thday - ALT and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase activity.
Keywords: radioactive phosphorus P-32, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferaze, lactate dehydrogenase, alpha-hydroxy-butyrate dehydrogenase, blood plasma, chickens.

Summary: The attempt was made to investigate the red blood cell count, theerythrocyte sedimentation rate, the hematocrit and hemoglobinconcentration; MCV, MCH and MCHC in the blood oh dogs withcombined injuries (bone fracture + gamma-irradiation). Inaddition, the iron and copper concentrations in the bloodplasma were determined. The results obtained have shown that thecombined injury as this one described, can probably cause changesin some investigated parameters.

Summary: An attempt was made to investigate the effect of a bone fracture treated by a stabilized ostesynthesis and the bilateral irradiation of the whole body by a dose of 2 Gy (Co-60) on the white blood cells in dogs. The results obtained have shown that in dogs a combined injury of such type and intensity will not cause enhanced effects, For this reason, detected changes in white blood cells reflect only the effect of the irradiation dose absorbed by the animals.
