Summary: In 1988 year researched precipitation reactions (pH) with dry deposition on three locations in Križevci, one location in Koprivnica and one location in Varaždin. Resultes of precipitation reactions (pH) with other meteorological data are shown in table 2. The lowest pH of 3.23 was determined on march 18,1988, and highest pH 7.88 on july 4, 1988 year. Percipitation amount in 1-2 days varied from 0.1 to 80.1 mm.Yearly precipitation pH were calculated for the researched locations: Križevci 5.36, Koprivnica 0.57 and Varaždin 6.44. It was computed significant correlation between precipitation reaction (pH) in Križevci and Koprivnica. Between amount of daily precipitation in mm and precipitation reaction (pH) were computed next correlations and regressions: -Križevci R=0.53** and regression y=6.397-0.08155x+0.001053x2 -Koprivnica R=0.29* and regression y=6.08-0.04957x+0.000729x2 -Varaždin R=0.32* and regression y=6.776-0.024024x+0.00024019x2 (See graphs 2,3) According to computed regressions, daily precipitation over 11.4 mm in Križevci and over 11.5 mm in Koprivnica have on anaverage reaction (pH) lower than 5.6. Between variations of average daily air temperatures and precipitation reaction for some months were computed correlation sand regressions which show table 3 and graph 4. It was determined that stronger cyclones and cold air fronts which come from west,north-west and north Europe to our areas bring, as a rule, acid precipitation.

Summary: Natural meadows of north-west Croatia according to the statistical data from 1981 cover 193.732 ha or 24.3% agricultural surface. They mainly belon to these associations: - sedges (as.Caricetum tricostato-vulpinae) - bullpates (as.Deschampsietum caespitosae) - cynosurus (as.Bromo-Cynosuretum cristati) and - button grass (as.Arrhenatheretum elatioris). They are used as two-cut meadows. The characteristics of their habitats mutually much differ. Thus big differences have been established in the mechanical soil composition expressed in the percentage of soil particles less than <0.01 mm and the percentage of particles less than <0.002 mm in the pedological profile at the depth of 0-15 cm.

    Language: hrvatski
    Number of pages: 130
Summary: Colchicum autumnale L. (meadow saffron) is one of mostpoisionous plants in meadow, so it belongs to absolute meadowweed. During 1990. and 1991. biology, ecology and control ofColchicum autumnale were researched in Križevci region. We have investigated the beginning and duration ofphenophasas, way of propagation, seed properties, number ofplants in turf and so on. In the context of ecological investigations chemical andmechanical soil properties of C. cutumnale habitat have beenresearched. Correlations and regresions beetwen soil propertiesand the number of C. autumnale were determined. It has been also researched phytocenological properties ofthe C. autumnale habitat., including plants wich acompany C.autumnale most frequently and in biggest mass. On the basis ofthe botanical composition humidity of the habitat has beenestimated. In oder to control C. autumnale, trials witr 8 differentherbicide treatments and with fertilized and unfertilized controlwere set. It was investigated influence of treatments on dclineof Colchicum autumnale, reduciton of flowering and reduction ofdevelopment in next year. The influence of treatments on hayyield and hay quality was also investigated.

Title: Plant cover and habitats in the Kalnik-Križevci region,

    Authors:
    Ivanek, Vilim (17225)
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The paper presents the results of simultaneous field and laboratory phytocoenological and pedological investigations of major plant associations of indigenous and anthropogenic ecological systems in the Kalnik-Križevci region. Results of pedological analyses of the soils of plant associations are presented in 14 tables. These results of simultaneous investigations of plant cover and site properties point to the conclusion that the floral composition of plant associations in ecological systems, particularly forests and meadows, results from the mutual adaptation of plant species and their genetic response to the relief, geological substratum, climate and microclimate, pedological soil properties, as well as anthropogenic and other biogenic influences.

Title: Genetic evaluation of soil classification

    Authors:
    Ivanek, Vilim (17225)
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: A genetic method of research and soil classification has been evaluated on the basis of pedological maps for the Republic of Croatia, literature and soil properties research of pedological profiles, in particular on the basis of Pleistocene Aeolian substrate in the Križevci area. It was established that this method is inappropriate for the present-day requirements of agriculture, forestry, ecology and environmental protection on the basis of the following reasons: - it uses a method of taking average soil samples from subjectively evaluated horizons that do not give representative results of pedological analyses and a clear dynamics of pedological processes in a soil profile, - it does not provide basis for establishing anthropogenetic influence on soil, erosion and protection of soil and plant cover,...

Title: Pedological soil properties in ecosystem of lowland forests in the Križevci and Vrbovec area

    Authors:
    Ivanek, Vilim (17225)
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The paper presents the results of soil properties analysis in pedological profiles down to the depth of 150 cm in relation to floristic tree composition in the forests of black alder (Alnus glutinosa), European ash (Fraxinus angustifolia), British oak (Quercus robur) and their transitions. Ecosystem is mainly developed on marsh and pseudogley soils that originated from Holocene alluvium close to lower courses of the rivers Lonja, Glogovnica, Česma and their tributary streams. The moistest soils are in the forests of black alder (Alnus glutinosa). Excessive moistening exchanges with land reclamation during summer all the year round on the soils of European ash (Fraxinus angustifolia). These exchanges of soil moisture with the appearance of ground vegetation condition clay development in surface soil horizons and initial development of rugged microrelief.....

Title: Inappropriateness of floristic photography of plant cover by Braun-Blanquet method in ecological studies

    Authors:
    Ivanek, Vilim (17225)
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Former studies of plant associations and their mapping in Croatia were done on the principles of floristic system of the Zuerich-Montpellier school. In floristic photography a method of a combined estimate of individual numbers of a single plant and its cover was applied whose author is Braun-Blanquet. The obtained results of such floristic photography do not present a basis for deeper ecological, agricultural and other studies, for these floristic photographs do not constitute sufficiently distinctive quantitative relationships among individual species in plant associations and they can not be compared in more detail to habitat properties....

    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Forests of sessile oak and sweet chestnut (Querco-Castanetum croaticum H-t 1938) used to be developed on many hillocks up to moderately high hills in the Kalnik piedmont region at 130-600 m above sea level. The forests have been developing since Pleistocene, after the end of the last ice age, on thick decarbonated extremely acid aeolian geological substratum of luvisol, the properties of which are shown in Table 1. Decarbonation of wind driven atmospheric dust was carried out by biogenic factors and processes by means of water drops trapped in tree tops and leaves. Centuires long spreading of anthropogenic ecological systems, especially plough fields, vineyards and ruderal sites, shifted these forests, as well as other acidophilic forests, to sites unsuitable for agriculture, on which extremely acid luvisol was preserved from erosion.
