Summary: The project researches possibilities of using adaptive
computerized numeric control on the woodworking machines. The aim of the
research work is to optimize the efficiency of the woodworking maschines,
to reduce the specific cutting energy and increase the material yield. The
research subjects are the relationships between the physical parameters
essential to the process control, transducers, control dynamics and the
development of the software and hardware control units.
Keywords: woodworking machines, adaptive control, band saws
Research goals: The research will increase the efficiency of the
woodworking machinery in the saw mills. By use of the adaptive
computerized numeric control system the efficiency of the machinery will
not depend on the operator's skill, the material yield will be increased,
and energy consumption decreased. Other information about the project.
