Summary: Veterinary service in Croatia is organised in a pyramidal hierarchical structure and creates a special social and business system. Introduction of an information system into the veterinary service in Croatia is still at the beginning. Lack of an adequate and uniform information system is a limiting factor in the development of veterinary service and undisturbed communication between the Croatian veterinary service and veterinary services in the European Union objective of the proposed research is to design an Information System in Veterinary Service of Croatia - "ISVET-H", on the basis of the facts gathered in the previous researches and on the basis of the research results related to requirements and possibilities for organisation of an uniform information system in the Croatian veterinary service. The research will be based on the system analysis and the following methods: 1. Information system defining; 2. Defining of requirements according to individual sub-systems; 3. External design of the chosen sub-systems.

Research goals: Objective of the proposed research is to design a complex, integral, dynamic, interdisciplinary, oriented to decision making, self-organised and open Information System in Veterinary Service of Croatia - "ISVET-H" on the basis of the data gathered in the course of previous researches and on the basis of the results of research related to the requirements and possibilities for organising the uniform information system in the veterinary service of Croatia.
