Summary: The project includes investigation of the possibilities of producing LUMBRIPOST (organic biological fertilizer) and earthworm biomass on organic by-products in agriculture, forestry and organic urban wastle for the needs of raising soil biogeny and producing animal feed.

Research goals: Application of modern measures, developed by agricultural scienceand adopted by agricultural practice, has enabled achievement ofhigh yields of field crops in the last decades. This samescience, however, warns today that superior results inagricultural production cannot be continually achieved withoutapplication of organic fertilizers. Our surroundings are full of various "waste" organic substancesthat contaminate the environment where they are dumped (farmyarddung, harvest and other plant residues that are ploughed-in,sawdust, urban organic waste, and similar). However, theseorganic substances are potentially very valuable organicfertilizers and a source of earthworm biomass that can be used tofeed domestic animals and fish. The objective of these investigations is the production of highquality biogenic organic fertilizers and earthworm biomass fromvarious organic substances that otherwise represent ecologicalproblems. We except that these investigations will contribute to a betterand faster solution of ecological problems caused by differentwaste organic substances and produce organic fertilizers andanimal proteins, of which there is a marked shortage in ouranimal feed industy.
